This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used by the website abruzzorental.it (hereinafter, the “Website”), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003) and the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021.
The Website is a showcase dedicated to the rental of film equipment in Abruzzo, featuring a catalogue and a quote request service. For the processing of personal data collected through the forms (quote requests, contact forms, client area), please refer to the Privacy Policy.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user’s browser, where they are stored and subsequently retransmitted to the same websites on the next visit. They serve, for example, to keep a login session active or to remember browsing preferences.
Alongside cookies there are similar technologies, such as localStorage: a browser storage area in which the website may save information (for example, a display preference) that remains on the user’s device and is not automatically transmitted to the server with each request. The Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority treat these technologies as equivalent to cookies for the purposes of the applicable rules.
According to their purpose, cookies and similar technologies are divided into:
- technical: necessary for the operation of the website or for the provision of the service requested by the user (authentication, security, storage of preferences);
- profiling: intended to create user profiles and deliver targeted advertising. This Website does not use any profiling, marketing or analytics cookies.
Cookies and technologies used by this Website
The Website uses exclusively first-party technical cookies generated by the WordPress platform and certain technical localStorage keys, listed below. None of these tools is used for profiling, marketing or statistical analysis purposes.
First-party technical cookies (WordPress)
- wordpress_*, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* — technical authentication cookies: they manage the session and authentication of users registered to the client area. Duration: session (up to 14 days if “Remember me” is selected at login).
- wordpress_test_cookie — technical functional cookie: it verifies that the browser accepts cookies during the login procedure. Duration: session.
- wp-settings-*, wp-settings-time-* — technical preference cookies: they store the interface preferences of registered users. Duration: 1 year.
Technical localStorage keys
- ar_cookie_consent — stores the choice expressed by the user in the cookie banner, so that it is not displayed again on each visit. Duration: until deleted by the user.
- ar_dark — stores the user’s preference for the Website’s dark theme. Duration: until deleted by the user.
- ar_qb_cart — stores the items selected by the user for the quote request, so that they are not lost while browsing. Duration: until deleted by the user.
- ar_qb_days — stores the rental duration selected for the quote request. Duration: until deleted by the user.
WordPress authentication cookies are set only for users who log in or register to the client area; simply browsing the catalogue does not result in the installation of authentication cookies.
The content of a quote in progress does not stay in the browser alone: a copy (items, quantities, estimated total and rental days) is also recorded on our servers for internal statistical purposes, without cookies, without storing the IP address and without any contact details. That copy is deleted when the quote is emptied and in any event after 120 days. Full details are given in the Privacy Policy.
Why consent is not required
Pursuant to Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021, technical cookies and equivalent technologies — that is, those used solely for the purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication or providing the service explicitly requested by the user — do not require the prior consent of the data subject: it is sufficient to provide this notice.
Since this Website uses exclusively technical cookies and technical localStorage, its operation is not conditional upon the giving of any consent. The legal basis for the related processing is the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in the proper functioning and security of the Website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, for the client area, the performance of the service requested by the user (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Google Fonts (third party)
The Website uses Google Fonts typefaces, loaded from Google’s content delivery network (CDN). The Google Fonts service does not install cookies on the user’s device; however, in order to download the font files, the browser makes a request to Google’s servers and, on that occasion, the visitor’s IP address reaches Google’s servers (Google Ireland Ltd), which may process that data in accordance with its own terms and privacy notice. The Website uses only a first-party statistics system, without cookies and without storing the IP address, based on a pseudonymous code that changes every day; there are no pixels, trackers, third-party analytics services or social plugins.
Images
All images on this site are hosted directly on our own servers: loading them involves no request to any external provider and installs no cookies.
Google Fonts are the only third parties involved in browsing the Website.
How to manage or delete cookies from your browser
The user may at any time manage, block or delete cookies and the data saved in localStorage directly from their browser settings. Please note that disabling technical cookies may impair certain features of the Website (in particular, access to the client area and the storage of items in the quote).
Instructions for the main browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data (or “Delete browsing data”);
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data;
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data;
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
Deleting “site data” from the browser removes both the cookies and the localStorage keys listed above (including saved preferences, such as the dark theme and the items in the quote).
Cookie banner and changing your choice
On the first visit, the Website displays an information banner regarding the use of cookies. The choice made is stored in the technical key ar_cookie_consent, so that the banner is not displayed again on each access.
The user may change their choice at any time: by deleting the site data from the browser settings (as described above), the banner will be presented again on the next visit. Please note that, since the Website uses only technical cookies, no tracking or profiling functionality is activated on the basis of the choice expressed.
