A set of Canon EF lenses doesn't have to be retired when you move to Sony: the Metabones Canon EF – Sony E Adapter maintains full electronic communication between lens and body, so you keep autofocus, in-camera aperture control, lens stabilization and EXIF data recorded in the footage. It's the accessory we most often pair with the FX6 and FX3 when a production shows up with EF zooms and primes.
Unlike budget adapters, the details give it away: chrome-plated brass bayonets with no play, anti-reflective internal flocking, and a removable tripod foot to support heavier lenses without stressing the E mount.
Before every rental we test it with the requested lenses, so there are no surprises on set; if the production is in Abruzzo we add it to the camera kit delivery.
