Description
Few things transform a day exterior like a frame over the actor's head. The Butterfly 2×2 m is the most manageable size in the overhead family: big enough to cover a medium shot or a table for two, compact enough to be handled by a single grip. With a diffusion fabric or a silk you turn direct sun into a soft source; with a solid you negate the light, with a grid you direct it.
The frame breaks down into tubes and assembles in a few minutes; the corner ears let you rig it to two sturdy stands via grip heads. Outdoors it always needs to be weighted down with sandbags, which we add to the delivery if you ask.
In rental the fabrics are agreed at booking based on the scene. It's one of the most requested grip pieces for summer exteriors in Abruzzo, where the midday sun shows no mercy.
