Description
Windshields, shop windows, water and foliage: when reflections dirty the frame, the ARRI Rota Pola 4x5.65 polarizer is the tool that fixes it. The circular Water White polarizing glass is mounted in a geared frame that rotates from outside the matte box, with a position lock: the AC dials in the effect while watching the monitor, without pulling anything apart between takes.
On set we mostly reach for it on car exteriors, scenes with glossy surfaces, and landscapes where you need to saturate the sky and vegetation. Its modest light loss, around 1.2 stops, keeps it manageable even in bright interiors without upsetting the lighting plan.
It's one of the most requested pieces in our filter rental: the 4x5.65" format drops into the filter stages of the LMB 4x5, LMB-25 and most professional matte boxes. On request we deliver it with the camera package straight to set, anywhere across Abruzzo.
