Three meters by three of controlled light: the Manfrotto Skylite Rapid 3x3 is the large panel that turns direct sun into a soft, wrapping source over full figures, laid tables, cars. The 3x3-meter aluminum frame weighs around 3.5 kg and assembles in minutes with no tools thanks to the quick-snap system; the fabric clips onto the frame taut, with none of the folds that would mark the light.
On rental we supply it with your choice of 1.25 or 0.75 stop diffusion fabric: the first softens more, the second holds contrast and rendering when you just need to take the edge off the midday hardness.
Outdoors it has to be handled like a sail: it calls for sturdy stands, counterweights and an eye on the wind, and on request we add stands and sandbags to the package. It's one of the most requested pieces for commercials shot on exteriors in Abruzzo, where the summer sun rarely forgives: book it well ahead.
