Description
A sky blown out three stops above a sea horizon: that's the situation the NiSi IRND Graduated Hard Edge 4×5.65 kit exists for. The hard transition lets you place the fall-off precisely on the horizon line, recovering the sky without touching the subject's exposure. The IRND treatment also cuts infrared, so the filtered area stays neutral and the blacks don't shift toward magenta.
The filters are 4 mm optical glass in the 4×5.65" cinema format, ready for any standard matte box; the kit includes several densities, so you choose the strength based on the scene's actual contrast. The nano coating on both sides makes cleaning off salt spray and dust easy.
We often rent it out alongside a matte box and follow focus, and it's among the first filters to go out for shoots on the Trabocchi coast and across Abruzzo.
