Description
On the more clinical digital sensors, a touch of halation is the difference between a "video" image and a photograph with character. The Tiffen Black Pearlescent 4x5.65 Filter Set adds a pearlescent glow around the highlights and softens the micro-contrast just slightly, yet keeps the blacks in place thanks to dark particles in the glass.
The two grades included, 1/8 and 1/4, are the ones most used in production: the 1/8 gives an almost subliminal organic look, while the 1/4 makes itself known on in-frame sources and overexposed windows. Compared with a traditional black mist, the pearlescent character produces a finer, less milky halation.
4x5.65 format with ColorCore construction: it fits every cinema matte box. Rental starts at €40 a day, with pickup at our base or on-set delivery anywhere in Abruzzo.
