Description
Some rig it as an HDR monitor, others use it mainly as a recorder: the Atomos Shogun Inferno does both well. The 7-inch AtomHDR display, 1920×1200 and 1500 nits, shows over 10 stops of dynamic range from Log and RAW sources, while the recording section captures ProRes and DNxHR 10-bit 4:2:2 up to 4K 60p, with 2K slow motion up to 240p from cameras that support it.
The Quad/12G-SDI and HDMI inputs take any camera output without external converters, and the dual Sony L-series battery mount allows hot swaps without interrupting recording. In our rental it comes complete with cage and a 1 TB SSD, ready to record the moment it powers on.
It's the classic partner for cameras that top out at compressed codecs internally, or the ideal safety recorder on multi-camera productions on Abruzzo sets.
