Two tools in a single rental: the Atomos Sumo 19 works as a 1200-nit, 10-bit HDR video-village monitor while, at the same time, recording the camera signal to SSD in ProRes or DNxHR up to 4K 60p, with ProRes RAW support from compatible sources.
On set it's used two ways: as a screen for the director and client, where the HDR image helps judge exposure and contrast, or as a backup or higher-quality recorder for cameras that compress too heavily internally. The 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs will accept virtually any camera out there.
It performs at its best paired with a wireless transmitter to feed the signal to the video village. We set it up with SSD and power, ready to work, and we can deliver it straight to set in Abruzzo.
