When the lighting plan is minimal or you're shooting a real night exterior, the RED Gemini 5K S35 is the first camera we reach for. The Super 35 sensor has two native sensitivity modes, standard at ISO 800 and low light at ISO 3200, and in the latter it delivers clean shadows where other bodies smear into noise.

REDCODE RAW leaves full control over ISO, white balance and curve to post, and the DSMC2 body rigs up fast, whether on the shoulder or on a stabilizer. At 5K full sensor it reaches up to 96 fps, enough for most slow motion in drama and music videos.

For rentals we often pair it with fast PL lenses, precisely to make the most of the dual sensitivity. If your project shoots in historic interiors or night exteriors in Abruzzo, where hauling in large lighting units is a challenge, the Gemini saves hours of lighting setup.
