8.6K full frame, dependable autofocus and in-body stabilization in a single body: the Sony Burano is the answer for crews that want VENICE-derived quality with a fraction of the crew. It's the first cinema camera with a PL mount to integrate IBIS, and the 7-stop variable electronic ND filter does away with filter swaps between setups.
It records internally in 16-bit X-OCN LT, Sony's compressed RAW that preserves the sensor's full latitude (16 stops claimed, dual base ISO 800/3200) on surprisingly lightweight files. In Super 35 crop it reaches 4K 120p for slow motion.
Renting the Burano makes sense for commercials, light drama and premium documentaries that need an A-camera capable of working handheld too. Remove the PL mount and you can fit E-mount lenses with autofocus, a combination we recommend for run-and-gun work.
