Description
Before today's clinical zooms, there was this one: the Cooke Varotal 25-250mm, the classic 10x that accompanied decades of cinema and television. The rendering is unmistakably organic — controlled softness, slight edge vignetting, gentle flares — and it's why the lens is coming back to sets after a film aesthetic without shooting on film.
With a T3.9 aperture and PL mount on Super 35 coverage, it also allows the in-shot zoom, that '70s optical move that's back in fashion in series and music videos. At around 4 kg it calls for a serious fluid head or a lens support: we carry both in our catalogue.
We often rent it out alongside vintage primes, to keep the look consistent across everything you shoot. On-set delivery is available throughout Abruzzo.
