Description
Some looks can't be recreated with a LUT: the 'swirl' bokeh that wraps around the subject is an optical signature, and the Lomography Petzval Kit 35, 55, 80.5mm puts it on any full-frame Sony E mirrorless. The Joseph Petzval series revives the 1840 optical design and adds a seven-step bokeh control ring: you dial in the swirl of the background without shifting focus, moving from an almost conventional portrait to an openly dreamlike image.
The three focal lengths — 35mm f/2, 55mm f/1.7 and 80.5mm f/1.9 — cover environmental portrait, waist-up and close-up. The interchangeable aperture plates also allow shaped bokeh for in-camera effects.
